hi everyone,

well as Rose has posted i had my first dose of Humira yesterday .. having qualified for it in May, but had infections and other blips that put me back.

i am also on 10mg Methotrexate and Hydroxy still as well.

i saw my Consultant last week at 3.30 in the afternoon and she said i had the highest DAS Score of the day, so i am not too good at the moment.

i went over to the Hospital for my first injection done by my Rheumy Nurse as she knows i get myself into a state when i have to start a new drug rather than have a Community Nurse come in, she offered this for me.. anyway i elected to have it done in the tummy after reading the forum and all was OK. i can't believe how lucky i am to have such a good Rheumatology Department as i know so many have to wait months and months to get seen and have no contact with a Rheumy Nurse.

now i have the first injection i do feel more confident, i had wound myself up into a terrible state yesterday.

i know lots of you are on it, from memory Doreen, Kathleen C and Anne P are well on it, sadly Rose has just failed.

so hoping this is the one for me,

i'll update as the weeks go on, i know i have to give it a full 3 months.

Suzanne x

hi Suzanne

Good luck with the humira now that you have finally started!

I failed on humira and am now on enbrel but i know a lot of the others have done really well on it.

I was a bit worried about the injections to start with but now i get quite excited as i know it has began to make me feel a bit better so hopefully you will too.ThumpUp

Hi Suzanne

At last ... great news. ThumpUp Before you know it you will be well away with giving yourself injections. Fingers crossed that Humira works well for you, things settle down quickly and you obtain great benefit from it.

Good luck to you Suzanne, I hope this is the one for you. I started Humira last November and although I didn't have a major epiphany when I felt like 'I've got my life back' - 6 months later I realised I could do so much more than I had been able to. I'm even starting to get some walking exercise done now and when I compare what I was like a year ago - I'm like a different person. The results didn't happen quickly but I didn't have any major side effects and am glad I stuck with it. Best wishes.
